The GEMS wide photography competition is back. Do you want to have your photographs displayed across Dubai for all to see? Then this is your chance. You can enter any photo, taken anywhere in the world on any topic that you choose. The only rules are that the photo must have been taken by you between August 2012 and 14th February 2013. There are categories for juniors and adults so pupils, parents and teachers get snapping. Last year we had 4 photos from our school shortlisted and we hope to do even better this year. Please email any entries to Mr McCafferty at [email protected] or place them on a usb to ensure photo quality. For more details and an entry form, please visit the website www.gemseducation.com/shutter All photos must be in by 21st April 2013. Good Luck! Director's Cut: Are you a cut above the rest? For the first time GWPS are holding a movie making competition. You can make a movie on your own or in a group of up to 4 people. The movies must be no longer than 2 minutes long. Be creative and think about how to make your video interesting and exciting. It could be an animation, filmed completely in black and white, an action movie, a comedy, set in the wild west or even a Bollywood dance video. Use you imagination, good luck. All entries must be delivered to Mr. McCafferty via USB before the 28th March (Spring Break). Extra Curricular Clubs have ended for the term, but they have produced some excellent videos. The Music Fusion club run by Mr. McCafferty and Miss. Sherman involved children from KS2 making their own music videos to songs that they chose themselves. Have a look at the results below.
